This guide will tell you how to swap from a normal key to a Flipkey
1. you will need a Volkwagen,Skoda or Seat Flip key with Two buttons or Three Buttons with the mhz rating as your key. most prob 434mhz like mine and some are 433mhz and harder to get hold of.
2. Try and get one with a blank blade
3. First of all wot you need to do is change the Chip from your existing key with no buttons on it, To do this get the old non button key and open it up you will see a little round chip ,take it out
4. Now Remove the badge from the flipkey , This will reveal a small screw undo this screw then the key will open up.Inside the flipkey there will either be another small chip or it might not have on depending where you got it from, Take the chip from your existing key and put it into the Flipkey
5. Then reassemble the key ,Put the Tiny screw back in , If your lucky the badge might stick back on , If not these can be obtained from Ebay
6. To code the remote you need the old original key (The one with 2 buttons) in the ignition with the ignition turned on, Then lock the door with the Non button key by putting it in the lock and turning ,Then press unlock on the flipkey and horn will bleep wait 6 second and press unlock again the key is now coded to your car! Please not if like mine your car doesnt have the alarm bleep turned on via vag-com obviously the car wont bleep
7. Take your key to a key cutting place , I took mine to my local Seat dealer , i took all 3 keys ( Flipkey, 2 button original, non button original) and they cut it for me
I was quite lucky and got my key for £19 from Ebay and manged to get the key cut for free, The average price is anywhere between £10-£50
